Jigsaw puzzles are great learning tools for children of all ages.  A toddler learns to recognize shapes and colors and to manipulate the pieces.  This develops hand eye coordination and spacial awareness.  Matching activity and even reading skills will follow as a child matures.  And the added bonus is that you get to spend fun, social time with a child you love!
