Choose Eco-Friendly Gift Bags Instead Of Wrapping |
By: Reily McGee Over the last few months, many customers have come in and asked us about why we no longer offer gift wrapping. Initially, this was a precaution taken to avoid potential spread of COVID-19. But as the pandemic continues and wearing masks indoors becomes more commonplace, we are asked why we still do not offer gift wrapping. There are a few big reasons why we still do not offer gift wrapping. But, the biggest reason is our new focus towards environmental sustainability. As a core tenant of Grandrabbits, we put the future generations first in thinking about how we engage with our community. Our recyclable bags and compostable tissue paper offer us a much better way of lowering our carbon output instead of our non-recyclable gift wrap. Whilst we still offer grab-and-go gift wrap for those who wish to wrap presents, we are likely not going to return to gift wrapping at our stores. This decision was not an easy one but we are not able to find alternative gift wrap that has a less harmful impact on the world we all share. If we have learned anything from COVID-19, it is that nothing is impossible. A toy store is capable of lowering our carbon footprint and so this is one step we are taking to do just that.
We are hopeful that one day, we will be able to return to gift wrapping with a sustainable gift wrapping option. But for now, our complimentary tissue paper offers a great way to dress presents and can be used to lower our environmental impact.
